How it works
Transformation of voice signals to digital signal and back to voice signal before reception is offered through VoIP technology. Strategy behind the VoIP phones is to offer unhindered connectivity. Bandwidth speed is equal in proportion with the quantity of data transferred through the broadband internet connection. The potential of the bandwidth lies on the time it takes to transfer data.

Bandwidth specifications
Bandwidth is categorised in to two and they include upload bandwidth and download bandwidth. In terms of functioning both are inversely proportionate to each other. That is, upload bandwidth determines the quantity of data sent to the Internet and download bandwidth determines the quantity of data received from the internet.

Standard broadband bandwidth necessary for VoIP telephone is 90 Kbps, as at this range you get to enjoy high sound performance. However, most of the time broadband net service provider is unable to keep to this range. In that case there are options to lower the bandwidth up to 60 Kbps or 30 Kbps by degrading the sound quality.

VoIP essentially takes the place of analogue phones making it suitable for making long distant calls as the call rates are usually cheap for international ones. Caller ID, call diverting, 3-way calling, call waiting are other enhanced features that makes this service unique. Another smart feature the unit supports is the virtual phone number that tracks the area code from where you get frequent calls and reducing their call charges to your number.
