The thought of receiving and making calls on Skype from your mobile phone itself is a clever thought and this is put to practise by EQO, a latest company.
Few simple steps ahead and you can activate this facility. All you have to do is make an EQO account and then download and install two applications namely, EQO PC for your Windows PC running Skype and other one is EQO Mobile which is exclusive for your mobile phone. Make sure that these applications are running and next your mobiles turn to activate the Skype buddy list.
If everything falls in place then you can take a view of those online in your buddy list and call them from your mobile phone without having to dial the number.
How is it possible
This is made possible when some one in your buddy list calls you or you call them and the call is routed by EQO through regular wireless voice service with SkypeOut. Using SkypeOut you can enjoy call to regular numbers in the US and Canada through EQO. In case you are calling to any other parts in the world you need to pay low international SkypeOut rates.
If people call you in a regular phone number that is SkypeIn number, you can access the call from your mobile as EQO routes the same call.
The Skype installed in the PC should be running and not be in a hibernate mode. Talk to your cellular provider and get some good data services plan, since EQO requires a few data traffic from your mobile phone.
MIDP 2.0, a specification for Java should be supported by your handsets or device. Phones which supports this facility include Nokia 3230, 3250, 6230, 6260, 6600, 6620, 6630, 6670, 6680, 6681, 6682, 7610, 8801, N70 and N91. In case of Sony-Ericsson they are D750, J300a, K500, K506, K508, K600, K608, K750, V600, W550, W600i, W800, W900, Z520a and Z800.
