Darker side of free VoIP service

Advantages of VoIP services are familiar to everyone but there are few drawbacks of VoIP services. One of the vital difference is that the use of 911 service, which is done through the VoIP instead of the conventional land line. This may prove fatal in emergency situations as the caller location will go unidentified by the operator on the other side. This is because when you make a free VoIP call, the addressee cannot be detected or traced.

Under the rules put forward by FCC it is required to register with 911 and in doing so you can straight away give them details about your locations. A better option is that you could carry a mobile or telephone landline which will come in handy during emergency. Over the years, free VoIP have become demanding but very few offer this service including AOL and Verizon power houses.

People who are hooked with the same conventional methods will benefit from instant messaging, whereas in VoIP functions such as E-mail, video and Web services, audio, are available apart from the basic telecommunication service. However, it is just matter of time and VoIP will be easily accessed by general public in much improved way.
